Frequently Asked Questions
Instead of scheduling pickups, Monthly and Yearly Subscribers have a weekly collection day, similar to a trash collection service. These subscribers have the option to Skip their next pickup if they choose.
Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) members schedule available pickup dates on their region’s weekday. For example, if your regional collection day is Monday, PAYG members can schedule any available Monday for their pickup.
Your collection day is based on your location. If you are unsure about your collection day, please contact us.
- Mondays –Â Downtown and Central Knoxville
- Tuesdays – North Knoxville and Northern Knox County
- Wednesdays – South Knoxville and Maryville
- Thursdays – West Knoxville
- Fridays – Northwest Knoxville, Oak Ridge
See the map below for more details:
Â
If you have signed up for our Monthly or Yearly Plan, there is no need to schedule a pickup.
If you are a Pay-As-You-Go member, you may schedule your collections on your Account page and purchase a Single Pickup at that time.
Maybe your bin is empty or you’re going out of town. No matter the reason, you can skip collections a few different ways:
- Choose the “Skip” option on your weekly reminder email notification about your upcoming collection.
- Go to your Account page and click Skip Collection(s)
- Contact us. When in doubt, shoot us an email or Contact form below and we will assist you.
Subscribers are members who have purchased the Annual or Month-to-Month Membership for our residential collection services. Annual members are charged once per year and Month-to-Month members are charged once per month on a regular basis. These members have their bin collected once per week on their regular collection day.Â
Pay-As-You-Go members are not charged on regular intervals like subscribers. They pay an upfront cost to start their membership with us. When they need their bin collected, they must schedule a collection online and pay for the pickup at that time.
If you do not put your bin out for your collection date and have not selected to “Skip” that week, you will receive a reminder to put your bin out the next week.Â
Each member has a grace period of three reminders per year before incurring a charge of $12 and account suspension until the fee is paid. Once the fee is paid, the account will be reinstated immediately and the grace period resets. This grace period also resets every year.
In order to make our routes as efficient as possible, we do not allow our members to switch their collection day of the week.Â
Route efficiency ensures that we use the least amount of fuel and resources as possible to provide services for our members. The reduction in fuel usage decreases our carbon footprint, an element of our company that we are always working to improve.Â
