Important Update:

All residential, commercial, and event collection services will come to an end by September 29th, 2023 until further notice. Green Heron Compost will continue to sell our finished compost in an effort to relaunch collection services as soon as possible.

Why are collection services coming to an end?

Due to lack of space at our current farm location and other resource limitations, we can no longer support the increased demand for collection services. Rest assured, we are actively searching for a new parcel of land and/or partner farms in order to restart our composting operations.

How do I continue composting?

During this downtime, we will continue to support the City of Knoxville by providing our services for their Composting Pilot Project. We encourage all of our customers to utilize their convenient public drop-off stations.

What will happen to my account?

Today, all subscriptions will be canceled, and no charges will be applied to your accounts after today’s date—September 5, 2023. To facilitate a smooth transition, our team will conduct the final collection of your bins during the week of September 25th to September 29th.

For our annual members, we understand that this change may prompt some adjustments to your plans. If you are an annual member and wish to receive a refund for the remaining months of service beyond September 29th, please feel free to contact us via email at greenheroncompost@gmail.com. We are here to support you through the process.
